So, in an attempt to finish my buddy Nate's combo as the cam grinder intended, today was time for a lifter swap.
He tore it down yesterday, I did the cam and lifters today. We replaced the ARP head bolts with ARP head studs. She should be buttoned back up tomorrow and hopefully running.
Here's what it looked like last year before disassembly:
And here are a couple pics of today's efforts:

Heads on:
Car details:
'85 Mustang GT, my friend bought it last year from a guy that was having issues with it. The shortblock was scrap (and that is why he was having issues, had the same shortblock rebuilt twice for it to continue to break after less than 2,000Km's) so we picked up a low mileage '88 shortblock on the way to pick up the car.
Combo is pretty basic:
-Stock '88 shortblock (90,000Km's on it)
-Trickflow Twisted Wedge heads
-Camshaft Innovations custom cam
-Trickflow roller rockers
-Comp billet double roller timing set
-1 3/4" BBK long-tube headers
-Edelbrock Victor Jr. (mildly ported) intake
-Holley HP750 carb
-MSD billet distributor
-Crane HI-6 ignition
Car has drag suspension, 3" exhaust, tubular K-member, South side controls arms, 4.10 gears, stock T-5 tranny, and the battery has been relocated to the trunk.
It went 12.2 (and 116Mph) for the previous owner when it broke with the wrong intake, and an un-tuned Holley 650 on it.
Once she's running again, we'll be out with the wideband trying to finish getting the carb sorted out. Then we get to start working on my beast finally, LOL!
