I must say I wasn't too excited when I took the car home, but the more I drive it, the more I'm falling in love with it. I love all the little features it has. I just love the suspension so much. The engine is quite powerful for a 4 cylinder N/A. My only complaint so far is my Mazda had a better sounding stereo. This car is truely amazing for what I paid. I like it better than the Mazda3. I ended up getting it for $20,570 + TTL. I need to make an appt for window tinting.

Here's a teaser pic:

The 2011 Sonata Hybrid looks like a winner with its litium ion battery and electric mode up to 65mph.

No other hybrid has these specs.

I'd have to test drive one before I pass judgement but they certainly look good otherwise.

Check out a 2011 Ford Fusion as well as I found it to be very well built/assembled, fun to drive, nice leather interior, and comparable to a Camry, Accord, and Maxima. I wasn't too fond of the Malibu when I had one as a rental.

It is even better than this: It is a Lithium Polymer battery. Smaller with more power inside and should last longer than a Lithium Ion.

The problem with the Sonata Hybrid is the facelift they did. That is why I prefer more the Kia Optima hybrid.

Maximus, Congrats on your purchase, this car is a beauty, inside and outside.

So maybe I should go trade in our 2009 for a new hybrid...

nah, the finances would make no sense at all, and with my Hyundai luck, chances are I'd end up with another lemon.

maximus, enjoy the new car. I'll have to test drive the 2011 for fun one day when I have a bit of time to kill, which is unlikely until next summer.

BTW, that photo appears to be a 12MP (3.6Mb) file. You might consider scaling down the hosted photo for quicker viewing in the browser.

What's up with all the people on this thread pushing their Ford/Chevy agenda? And Mechanicx what is it with your anti-Korea agenda?

I've owned a couple of Kias and I've had good luck with them so far. I might consider a Ford, but the Fusion (and Mazda 6) are down on interior room compared to the competition - I'm 6'7" and even a small difference in interior room is a big deal to me. The 2011 Sonata has 45 inches of front seat legroom which is among the very highest in the automotive marketplace.

I would own one if I needed a new car but my current Kia is meeting my requirements acceptably.

It's America, what else should you expect? There will always be individuals who are patriotic and feel obligated to convince others to support "American" companies.

And like people don't push Kias and Hyundais everywhere and in other makes' threads too? To say I have an "anti-Korea agenda" makes as much sense as me accusing you of having an anti-American agenda. I stated why I recommended the other cars as I think they are superior or at least equal and deserve a look. Like Critic said this is America and I don't see anything wrong with someone having a preference towards American brands even if that is the case.

Thanks for the comments everyone. As far as American cars, well it's a matter of preference. I certainly don't have anything against American cars. If I were shopping for a pickup truck, it would probably be American and I fully intend to own a Corvette one day. Also, I've my first two cars were a American; a 93 and 94 Caprice respectively. Both solid and extremely reliable.

I was really drawn to the Hyundai because of the price and features. Alot of thought went into this car. It suits my needs very well. Frankly I don't feel guilty about it being a foreign car. Heck, it was built in Alabama by American workers. The dealer I bought it from is an American company.

Yes that sums it up

I like the styling, although sure not my first choice, it looks like a great car! I really do not hear many bad things about them! What is your gas milage?

Like the color. At the moment if I were serious about a 2.0 Turbo, the gray would be right there as one of the top choices.

Very nice, keep us informed how you like it, mpgs etc. Enjoy.

Well yes, not to put too fine a point on it. But there is also the fact that the Malibu and Fusion are both very well made, very well designed, great cars that are definitely worth a look before making a final decision.

i have always bought gm and ford vehicles, because i like the vehicles and get great lifespan from them and to support american workers. However ( i'm trying to avoid politics here) the best way to support/ defend america, is to not buy a union built vehicle.

The current Mazda6 is practically a full size car. It's only fractionally smaller than the current Accord. In fact the current Taurus only tops the current Accord and 6 by a couple of cubic ft. and the 6 and Accord seem to manage that space a bit better than the Taurus. Unlike the Fusion, the 6 is built in the United States.

Now my earlier model Mazda 6? It is smaller than a midsize but bigger than a compact. I'll give you that. It's either a large compact or a small midsize. It's a little short on headroom for my 6'3" frame. I think the New Beetle is the only small car I can drive with the seat back fully upright.

I personally like Korea. From a patriotic poit of view the Republic of Korea has been one of our best allies.

I thought the Kia Optima I drove was a good car. I wish the suspension had been a little more sport oriented and a manual would have been nice but otherwise it seemed to be a good car. As good/better than anything else on the Enterprise Rental lot.

My mother in law's Hyundai XG is as good a fwd V6 luxury car as anything else from that time. The engine and transmission are exceptionally smooth and the ride is better than the last Park Ave I rented

According the computer, gas mileage is about 22. I haven't had to put gas in it, yet. I'll post back after a few fill ups.
