Wrecked today. Thinking about a 2011 Sonata

So I managed to crunch my beloved little Mazda3 this morning. I had some bald tires on the back and hydroplaned into the wall on 610.(Houston) The wrecker driver was convinced the car will be totalled since an airbag deployed. I managed to walk away from the accident, but learned a hard lesson about keeping good tires! Thank God my 1 month old son wasn't in the car.

Sooo, I'm really liking the 2011 Hyundai Sonata. It has excellent reviews and I can afford one.

Does anyone have one or has anyone driven one or perhaps it's cousin Kia Optima?? Thanks.
 
I have no experience in Hyundais or Kias, but I agree that the new Sonata is a really nice looking car. It has an upscale look a little. But do check out the new Chevy Cruze also.
 
I really like the design of both. It'd be very hard to choose between the two. The engine/transmission choices are identical between them.

Between the two I like the Sonata's styling a little more.
 
can't stand the design of the new sonata and to be honest i have only seen very few of them since the new shape came out - not very popular here.

Small world! I was coming up to the N/S Braeswood exit just past Stella Link.

I was going to look at some shotguns with my dad. He's on Sylmar off of Renwick and Beechnut.

My right knee hit the dash, but I'm fine otherwise.

I don't care for the new 3s. The first gen looks better IMO. The front facia on the new ones reminds of The Joker. Plus, I have a baby to haul around. I need a midsize at least.

I looked at the Mazda6 also. Seems like the Hyundai is a better value for what it comes with. Do these cars have OLMs?? That wouldn't be a deciding factor, but would be cool to have.
 
Even though I'm another one who has no experience with the Hyundai/Kia vehicles, I'm very impressed with the new vehicles they have been turning out lately. Along with a couple of friends, I should be heading to the New England Auto Show in Boston next Friday to get a closer look at them.
 
Both vehicles are very nice. Great safety ratings to help protect you and your newborn son, so I think it's a great idea for you to pick one up. Inside of the Hyundai is quiet and beautiful, and the outside looks very upscale. With all the amazing reviews and how nice the car is when I was in it makes me want to upgrade myself. Very popular here in northern VA.

The new optima is nice as well. Both cars you can't go wrong with, just go with whichever you like better style or price wise.

Both of these will keep you and your son safe.

I'd suggest testing the Chevy Malibu and Ford Fusion then decide which car you like better. These cars are in the same class and highly rated and who knows you might find one of them works better for you.
 
i got into a chevy cruze and i thought it was a awesome car, ford focus is good too
 
My daughter bought a Genesis track Coupe and loves it,she races that thing around and has yet to visit the dealer except for just an OC.
Nice well built cars and IMO the Sonata is by far much nicer to look at than anything on the domestic lots.Great warranty and price.At the moment the only car that IMO that is as nice or better looking is the VW CC without getting into some serious Euro money.

If they put that 429 HP 5.0ltr in the Genesis Coupe one will be in my garage the same day it hits the showrooms.

Hyundai just knocked Toyota off the top import spot in Europe that says a lot to me about their quality.
 
The Sonata would be a good choice.
I also noticed a dealer yesterday advertising giveaway pricing on '10 Altimas ( I would also check ebay, on which many dealers list new cars, since it will give you an idea of what kind of pricing is available.
It is a good time to be new car shopping.
Plenty of choices and ample discounts.

I'm impressed enough with my 2008 Santa Fe that I'd easily consider another Hyundai product. I'm just under 60Kmi on my Santy and it's been flawless. This vehicle hasn't had an easy life either.
