Would you buy a new Mitsubishi?

Well, life is funny. I had decided to make an offer on one but life got in the way. Our flight was cancelled and moved a day later, then my wife had a fall and broke two ribs. When I pulled up the dealers web page the discounts have been reduced and the prices have gone back up, replaced with a “trade assistance” bonus which does nothing for me. I may still make the same offer…worst they can do is say no.
Wow! I hope your wife recovers quickly and has a lot of good treats to enjoy in the near future. Life is always more challenging when your spouse needs some serious TLC. But you do get to watch some good TV shows together. So there's that.

If you want direct access to where the dealer's buy them, let me know. I have a popular car buying service on Facebook and Mitsubishis are among my top sellers due to a lot of folks wanting an affordable 4WD vehicle.

A (relatively) close Mitsubishi dealer has a couple of new 2024 Outlander Sport models still on the lot, the cheapest of which is advertised at $23,900. Mitsubishi is offering a 5/60K full and 10/100K powertrain warranty on these, which might make me feel better about buying a vehicle with a CVT.

The closest comparable deal on a new AWD I have seen is a base Subaru Impreza for around $26K and but also has a CVT. I've never even seen (much less driven) an Outlander Sport. The cheapskate in me is intrigued but the skeptic is worried that Mitsubishi might well exit the US market before the warranty expires. Of course there's a less than zero possibility I might also exit the planet before the warranty expires too, so...

Would you buy a new Mitsubishi if you liked the way it drove, and the price was right?
Definitely

Mitsubishi has been leaving the US market for 40 years
Mitsubishi CVTs most likely will outlive most modern automatic transmissions. Scowl all you want.

I don't consider those bottom tier trims worth buying. LE on up only....
That said never buy on price alone.
If it doesn't fit, move on..

My Nissan goes south I would consider a mirage or outlander sport. What’s the largest tire size can go on the mirage? I’d sacrifice some mpgs for a 15 or 16” rim size.

I’ve never owned anything other than the base model my whole life.

I’m going to make an offer on a 2024 SEL that’s 600 miles away. If we can’t make a deal I’ll try for the extreme other end with a S model closer to home.
Great..
Good luck....the SEL is the bomb
The vehicle is fine but below the LE, I don't like the seat fabrics etc and here up north no heated seats
The rest is fine.

I like the idea of the 2.4L engine in the SEL trim but they seem to be rare as hen’s teeth. I don’t need heated seats but after having experienced heated mirrors in my wife’s Corolla I can see how those would be worth paying extra for.

I started this thread six weeks ago. Time for me to get off the pot LOL. The local dealer had two orange ES models and has sold them both while I’ve been deliberating. If I don’t do something soon they might sell them all, and so far they haven’t replenished their inventory at all.

Mitsubishi was very late with the 25s so is your SEL a 24 or 25?
After 4k miles the 2L is by far more usable than ever before... although not mentioned officially it's far better than it used to be.
