4.88s are amazing, my little Jeep carries 37s as if they are nothing. Best mod I did to my JeepI put 4.88s in my Cherokee a few years ago. Really helps with the 35'' tires. It can get up and move!
Only real issue I have on the Cherokee with them is the driveshafts don't like how fast they rotate on the highway.4.88s are amazing, my little Jeep carries 37s as if they are nothing. Best mod I did to my Jeep
I run 5.38's with a 4:1 'case and first gear in my tranny is 7.05:1. 151:1 crawl ratio.4.88s are amazing, my little Jeep carries 37s as if they are nothing. Best mod I did to my Jeep
You do know you’re supposed to navigate OVER the land and not simply pull it out of the way right?I run 5.38's with a 4:1 'case and first gear in my tranny is 7.05:1. 151:1 crawl ratio.
She can drive up hills without me in it. LOL I'm actually running a built AMC 2.5L, and although better than stock, it's still not a powerhouse. I have looked at doing an LS swap for years, as the transmission is a Muncie SM420 (so just a bellhousing change), but it runs great, and bops down the trail just fine. You do know you’re supposed to navigate OVER the land and not simply pull it out of the way right?
If my math is right, and not accounting for losses, if the engine puts out 250lb ft your tires are being asked to transmit almost 38,000lb ft of torque![]()
