Near me for sale is a Craftsman RO 6" variable speed buffer CMEE145, 2,500-6,500, like new, $40.

It comes with a backing plate but I'm not sure it has velcro loop and stick. I can buy a Chinese Amazon backing plate with pads for $22, you get 3", 5", & 6". Are those hook and loop ones the best to work with?

I have a Craftsman 2 handle round 10" buffer I've been using that the pads fit on with an elastic.

Is one method better than the other?

Worth it?

Yes if that's what you're in the market for. Anything comparable will be at least $120 new. Home Depot has a comparable porter cable on sale for $90

I bought it. Looks almost new. He said if I come now he'd lower the price to $30. It comes with a foam pad and a hook and loop pad, plus the wrench.

Amazon has this for $125 plus sales tax.

For $30 it's a excellent deal, a real variable speed random orbit polisher is vastly better then the generic two handle kind which are really under powered and hence don't work as well. I bought a 3 pack of cheap generic hook and loop foam polishing pads and they work great.
