Oh yeah I remember these FR690 very well. I almost got a heart atack driving on those through the whole city in on hellish snow storm, I even witnessed a car accident right in front of me, but I made it home in one piece. Boy was that a scary experience! I was driving about 20-25 MPH on small tracks while everybody(including semis passing me like inches away), then I moved to unplowed right lane and had to drive even slower, in these moments you just close to panick! I still can't believe it I made it home that day, and was actually able to drive on them in snow, let alone very bad snow, especially after all these driving on Nokians now. Driving on hot pavement and in rain sucked too. When I finally got dedicated seasonal tires I dumped these FR's in nearest Firestone, while tires still had at least 10k left in them. Firestone took it with no charge, I just dumped them in the shed with the rest of the used tires and drove away never looking back! ****est thing, these incredibly [censored] tires are still sold at tirerack for like $80 a piece!!! Also local Honda dealership peddling them as "right tires" for my car, man those people gonna fry in [censored]!!! I can't believe there are people out there that actually buy this [censored]! No wonder we got so many accidents.
So what with these Falken ZIEX512's? Are they bad or not?

512 works well, but wears fast. Construction is my gripe, 2 bubbles on the same 15" tire. I had a 16" set that could not be balanced neither on the tire shops Hunter nor the Audi dealer's. The only tires I ever returned out of hundereds of them but still cost me time and money.

Thanks for letting me know. I know another guy who returned 512, but he was just not happy with their grip. Have you tried Falkens ZE-912?

I wonder just how different and/or 'better' the 912's compound/contruction/sidewall is compared to the 512's??
I also had sidewall bubble problems with my 512s.

Generals on my 88 Nissan Sentra. My first car, oil changed every 3000 and tires rotated every 6000. Lasted about 18,000 miles before 3 of 4 started separating.

Learned to love Bridgestone when I switched to slightly larger Potenzas.

Cant believe they are 'standard' on an Acura.

Oh, how right you are. The GY Integs are absolutely, totally, completely awful. It's as if the engineers sat down and said, "hey, let's design a tire and see how many different ways it can suck!!!" The Integ feels sloppy and floppy even in good conditions. Anyone who's interested should look at a dismounted Integrity tire. The sidewalls have about the thickness and stiffness of a disposable raincoat.

I drive a standard model Prius (not the Touring version). This car is criticized from time to time regarding its handling. When I put the Michelin MXV4-Plus tires on, the car was suddenly vastly better in all handling characteristics. No, the MXV4s don't turn the Prius into a Corvette, but it's still an AMAZING difference.

Goodyear Integrity tires are just awful!!!!!!!

Inflation pressure checked weekly to factory specs. I drive very easy, anticipating stops, and easy take offs with no hard cornering. I think this is Toyota specing out the tires so they can buy them as cheap as possible. These tires are junk.
I just replaced them with Michelin Destiny. What a difference.

Just be thankful you got the Touring model and didn't get the GY Integrity tires.

Hey, the Integrity (the most absurdly mis-named tire ever sold...) will start hydroplaning whey relative humidity hits about 80%. . .

Goodyear Wrangler RT/S. They came stock on my Ranger, and I still have them. Absolutely horrible in the rain and snow, they have no traction. Going down the highway in the rain can be downright scary and I usually can't go past 60 mph. I can't wait for these to wear out so I can get some good tires, but with the amount I drive this truck, that probably won't be for at least 3 years.

Firestone Radial ATX. The tires made famous by blowing out on Explorers on the highway about 10 years ago. My Explorer came stock with them. We never had a blowout, and I was too young to actually experience driving with these tires, but I remember my dad always saying how horrible they were. I think we had them replaced twice under warranty before the recall, and we finally went with a set of Dunlops.

I drive an old ,1979 Dodge Pickup 2wd. There are currently cupped Goodyear LT 235-75-15. They do not have good traction in MN snow! Not the worst tires, but I'm going to buy a set of retreads as I only drive about 3000 miles a year.I found high-tecretreading.com about 2 wks. ago.I am 51 yrs. old and have not thought about retreads for 35 yrs.!! But, for my application, these will be great.

Worst 3: all OEM tires.

Goodyear Invicta (worse than Integrity, imagine that), makes my corolla ride worse than on spare tires, and a mild wind could sway your car 3 lanes away in DRY weather.

Continental CH92 (came with a Ford Taurus), the brake distance and skidding in wet weather on a start from a stop sign is just unimaginable.

Yokohama Y378 (came with Integra), by far the better of all evil, but still suck compare to any non-OEM tires. I wouldn't buy it myself, but I think it is nice that they didn't put Invicta on the car or else I wouldn't buy it after test drive.

yeah bf at's are so overrated it isnt funny.. now i dont want to hear " hey all the baha guys run them" and etc bc that isnt the same f'ing tire!! they are [censored] on the road and decent off road.. heck the firestone at's are rated much higher off and on road.. thats the tire ill go with

My 2006 Honda Odyssey LX had Bridgestone Turanza EL42. I took to calling them the TurDanza. Brutal in the snow (really really), mediocre in the wet, and just OK in the dry. The more expensive Odysseys came with Michelin (we never got the PAX in Canada, but I hear bad things about the PAX) - don't know about current years.

The VERY Worst tires I ever owned were Firestone 721 back in 1976. Steel wire came out the sidewall at approx. 10,000 miles. I taking looking almost like a worn out wire brush. I paid a ton that set thinking I was getting the lastest and greatest. Still havn't purchase any Firestones.

The worst tires I have ever owned? Been a few and they have ALL been OE issue on new trucks I bought.

Goodyear Wranglers( AT/S, RT/S, ST )- OE issue on various Dodge & GM 4WD trucks. I have NEVER had a decent Goodyear tire be it a car or truck nor be it a OE or replacement tire. Worst tire brand on the planet bar none. HATE them.

Dunlop Grandtrek AT20 - OE 05 Toyota Tacoma 4WD. Absolutely miserable tires. Would not stay balanced and abysmal traction wet/snow. They were gone within 300 miles.

When I buy a vehicle and it comes with Goodyear tires I try like heck to get the dealer to swap them before I make the deal. If I can't they come off within 500 miles so I can sell them to some poor sucker.

Almsot every OE truck tire I replaced I did so with a Bridgestone Dueler product( APT, AT, AT Revo ). Last year I tried some Firestone Destination LE's and they were really good tires as well. Also, once, I bought some Kelly Safari tires and they were okay.

I have never bought them new, but got them on used cars too many times

721, warped. all 4 of them, steel hanging out with over half the thread left, plus newer models too, warped...no grip...............

plus generals

sooner or later you will own (and hate) generals

on a positive note about 5 years ago I bought some off brand somewhat cheap snow tires made in canada......after 50,000 or 60,000 miles there still going strong, They have been on the back of 3 mercury's so far. plenty of thread left too
they don't grip the best, never did, they ride stiff too, but they never gave me a problem, I just took them off a month ago (there still on the spare rims) never needed rebalancing, never went out a round, perfect even wear with no rotation, never warped, no rot, thick and strong sidewalls it appears.
last summer I left them on to wear them out pulling my boat on the highway, didn't happen

I have some goodyear integritys on right now and it feels like I am driving with racing slicks on when I drive in the rain.

Very poor quality tires.

Firestone 500's, had a blowout on the driver side rear at 45 mph, tire was a smoking mess with most of tread area gone basically just the sidewalls left even though I stopped as soon as I heard the thumping noise. This was replaced with a firestone 721 which had the belts separate within 5000 mi. No problem breaking these loose at 35-40 mph in the rain.
