Worst Tires Ever?

...when I bought my 78 Pontiac...it had Cooper Lifeliners...I dunno how many miles they had on em when I got the car...but I thought they were gonna last forever...I thought if I ever see Lifeliners on sell I will buy a set...until it snowed...Great tires if you live in Hawaii or Florida...Not so great if you live in Nebraska...

Well, I had Pilot HX on my '06 Acura and they are not bad, but not too grippy and super-expensive. Falken 512s are DEFINATELY not better. The Falkens are in fact garbage. Ever see 2 bubbles on the same tire? Ever have to return a set that could not be balanced? I only had a rpoblemn with one brand/model Falken 512. They work ok, but feel like cheap tires, however I got a set on my A4 which could not be balanced, once on the tire shop's Hunter and at my Audi dealer, who does great work. WOULD NOT BALANCE. They cost me time and money. Never had that problem again, before or since. Right as I turned around, the one of a pair on my woman's car showed 2 bubbles in 3-4 weeks. Junk.
Also, when I hear tires wore unevenly, I am skeptical. Not that they didn't wear uneven, but it's not because of the tire....especially when it's a tire I've used that wore flat. I never have uneven wear and I only rotate once a year for winter.

Worst Tires ever....Anything that says Goodyear on it....

now, now. i heard that a lot from many different people. but how come their recent tires like triple treads and eagle f1 one of the highest rated tires out there? who can explain me that ???

Every tire company makes both good models and dogs. Better to think in terms of models rather than brands. Bridgestone is a good example. Some are junk and some are cutting edge.

Worst tires ever Cooper Lifliner Classic II's: Ply shifted could feel it in a turn at 25 mph

- would not balance after rotation - dealer replaced them for yet again another lousy set that did the same thing.

I equate tolerating those tire with showing up to a ---- job day after day. Should of just trashed them. I have run Cooper Weather masters - great tire plys never shifted.

Replaced them with Michelin X- Ones one of the "best" tires I've ever run period.

In that case above statement shouldn't apply only to goodyear.

Michelin TRX 220 55r-390's p-metric tires that came stock on my '85 BMW 635csi. This was a sweetheart deal that BMW made with michelin in those years. The only tires that would fit on the BMW rims were those p-metric Michelin's.

They were pretty good tires, in their time, and they came OEM on some ferrari 308's and 328's of the time. They were also stock on the 83 (first year of the fox bodied) Mustang GT's and Capri RS's. However, their technology never improved, and you couldn't upgrade your car to rubber that was way better.

Not to mention the fact that they cost something like twice the price of premium performance tires. Burn!

I have to say the Michelin LTX A/S that came OEM with my Dodge Cummins. Terrible in anything but dry roads, and when they were at about 50%wear, I felt every bump twice as bad as when they were new. I replaced them with Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors.

I have to admit that sometimes I'll read the reviews of the worst-rated tires at Tire rack. Some are downright compelling, just like the ones here.

goodyear t-metric, decathalon and S4S lines...

Only tires I ever saw routinely used that had B and C ratings...

Firestone 500

+1 Had a set on a '76 Granada. Dealer gave us a new set of something or other (can't remember what, it was 30 years ago!!), so I'm not complaining too much.

Had a set of Firestones on a Ford Tempo that were junk, but the Firestones I had on my Mazda B3000 wore and had good traction in both rain and snow. The Goodyear Integrity on my 05 Grand Caravan are very noisy but I don't know if it is the tires or just the van. Am buying a pair of Goodyear Achieva (I believe that is the brand) from Sams that I used on my old 94 Caravan and had good luck with them.

goodyear RSA's that came stock on a '97 supercharged grand prix, they went out of round in less than 10k with loud freeway howling. when i ran my hands over the tread it was like caressing telly savales;s bald head.

Yet another vote for the Michelin Energy MXV4s. They were OEM on my 02 passat. Torque steer on a 170HP car with traction control (btw, this was eliminated after switching to G009s). [censored] wet and dry traction. They squealed when I was taking 45mph off ramps at 50mph. I used to think these yellow mph caution signs were overkill but I guess they apply when you are running MXV4s.

Also, useless in the snow despite small narrow wheels (195/65/15). They did have low rolling resistance though so gas mileage was good and treadwear was minimal even after 38,000. But I replaced them anyway cause' I couldn't live with them anymore.
