I recognize that these are still inferior to a true constant-tension spring clamp, but in a pinch, are these still an upgrade over the infamous worm-drive clamps? Plan to use this for power steering hoses.

I always pick this style when I replace clamps that weren’t constant tension. I feel better cinching them down tight as they don’t tear up the hose they are securing.

Are constant tension hose clamps mainly for hoses that will get hot and expand a little? They would provide constant tension as the hose expands and contracts a bit. Most of the constant tension hose clamps (similar to the one in my prior post) at NAPA seem to be somewhat around heater hose size. None small like gas line and none large like radiator hose.

I agree I like the concept! I've never sourced any. If you buy some post up where, please?

I use a constant tension clamp on one of my radiator hoses, they do come in larger sizes. I think mine is 2.25 or 2.5" clamp size. I've bought them at Oreilly before. And yes, that's exactly why I got them for the expansion/contraction of the radiator hoses. Once installed, I've had to snug it down once, after that, they've maintained their tension
