World Series 2025 Thread

The Jays are firing on all cylinders right now, all of their hitters are hot and even though Bo Bichette has been on the injured list for a month he came back yesterday and showed everyone why he’s one of the best hitters in baseball right now. Trey Yesavage had a bit of trouble with his command yesterday but still managed to keep the Dodgers to just 2 runs off him. The next game he pitches will probably be even better. And he just came into the big leagues a few weeks ago! He started the year in single A ball! Gausman is pitching tonight and he’s been awesome lately. Max Scherzer was great his last time out too and he’s built for the World Series!

Our weakness is the bullpen, however we also have help right now from Chris Bassitt, he is normally one of our top starters but he’s coming off a back injury so he’s down in the bullpen right now. Last night he came in for an inning and was fantastic! And in a game 6 or 7 situation we would also call on one or two of our starters to jump in for an inning or two.

I previously thought that the Jays might be overmatched by the Dodgers but I now am confident that the Jays will win the World Series this year. They are a scrappy bunch who has more come from behind wins than any other team. Watch out for the Jays in the 6th and 7th innings, that’s when they really shine when they are behind

I think the last time I watched a baseball game, which happened to be the world series, was 1989. It was preempted by an earthquake.

The pitch clock really moves things along, and the limited pick off throws helps too, so its not long and drawn out if nothing is going on.

Thanks. I do believe that is the correct name of the 'rule change'.

The question of what to call the runner on 2nd at the beginning of each half inning after the 9th came up.
One writer suggested, "Zombie Runner" as the runner would be the player who made the 3rd out in the previous inning.

I really don't watch professional sports anymore. But like the Super Bowl, I watch it for the commercials.

Either way though, I don't mind either team. Is there any way the World Series can end in a tie? 🥳

Didn't the Jays win back-to-back in the early '90s - perhaps '92 and '93?
Yes by golly! I forgot about that. Here is something from Wiki. Mods I had to use this to establish the street cred for Toronto.
