WORLD CUP 2026 THREAD

I generally believe words have specific meanings and I don’t think it’s always just semantics in loose web forum vernacular. That said the point has been made and dead horse beaten.

I did not bring it back up. He did.

Can someone start a "I hate the World Cup '26" thread ? Seems like many of you would enjoy that....

So here it is, the FIFA World Cup thread. I searched FIFA and nothing came up.

Team USA won their second game, this one against Australia. Go Team USA!

My change to soccer rules would be to make it like hockey where players can be substituted freely at any time.

So I just started watching FIFA for the first time, watching whatever game is available over the air from my antenna. What I find interestingis that when 2 guys get tangled up just a little bit one maybe both guys will fall down on the ground screaming, rolling around the ground & holding their face like they were just shot in the face with a gun. It's comical and sad at the same time. The only time I have seen this much drama is professional wrestling.

Sounds like a South American team

Are you sure you're not watching the NBA ?

At least in football when that happens, the refs frequently completely ignore them and play continues on (no foul called). I'd guess NBA games have almost double the # of fouls, but it's easy to foul since breathing on another player, brushing against them, or looking at an opponent mean gets called. 😂
