Went to Oreilly's last night, while there, saw they are now carrying Wix XP oil filters, right next the regular Wix filters.

Another thing, they put out Wix air filters next to their Microguard air filters. In the past, when I have asked for Wix air filters, they looked up the part number in the computer, and then got the filter from the back.

I went in yesterday to use a giftcard from the Chevron Delo deal that happened a while back and I saw the same thing--WIX and WIX XP out in the main store shelves next to the Microgards and they had plenty of them.

I can verify that i went in yesterday to pick up a master brake cylinder for my 83 rx7 and the wix filters were all out next to the oil. I never knew it was any different as I don't go there very much, but they were there.

Of the 3 main auto parts chains in So Cal the one I like the least is AZ, I like O'Reilly and Pep Boys better. We don't have AAP, NAPA and Carquest are few and far so I don't shop there often.

They have always had them, but they needed to be ordered. Usually came in that afternoon or the following day depending on when you called them.

RP is the same way at my local store.

That's pretty efficient.

Sufficient to meet new car OEM standards.

Wix happens to be a major OEM supplier.

And the filters are robustly built.

Which OEM are you talking about? This is well below the OEM efficiencies I have ever seen except a few outlier Japanese filters. OEM specs are hard to come by anyways but this is pretty bad IMO.
