Looks like a Napa Gold or CarQuest Blue is what Wix would call their premium filter.

The Napa Silver and Carquest Red would be their standard filter.

I must be a little slow because I am still a little confused...

IF Napa Gold and Carquest Blue are premium filters and the Silver and Red are standard - What is the self branded Wix filter, standard or premium? IE Wix 51356

It also appears that unless the filter specifies differently if the media is 'paper' then it is not 'glass enhanced'? Is that correct?

The wix website talks about 'paper' media and 'depth' media as two types of media. Are they separate things?

how do you tell the difference between napa Gold and Silver (beside the color???)? what does fleetfilter sell?

Does Napa own Wix? - looking at the fleetfilter.com - general filter information - oil filters - they seem to replace Wix with Napa throughout the article (this is the same article on the wix website) saying how Napa has been on the cutting edge of filter technology and performance.. Strange..

There is only ONE Wix® filter offered by Wix. It is the same filter that is offered as the Napa Gold and Car Quest Blue.


All other filter produced by Wix for any other purpose are spec'd by the customer or otherwise not marketed as a Wix® filter.

There is only ONE Wix® line of filters.

It is confusing. The Wix websire should be more specific and say that it is a synthetic or glass enhanced media if all their filters are built that way.
