Wix vrs provtech

Looking at the specs on a pro tec for 1.36 And a wix 4.68
Looks like exactly same.
Any thoughts?
Well I just ordered a few pro-tecs.
Will cut one open and compare it to the used wix I pull off.
It may be hard to compare media but description is the same.
Wish I had ordered 1 wix to cut open, but thought of that after placing my RO order

Pro-Tec has cellulose media, Wix has a synthetic blend, ADBV is silicone in a Wix Gold, and nitrile in the Pro-Tec.

Also, some Pro-Tecs have the somewhat disliked “combo” valve, the nitrile ADBV & bypass combination, that generally isn’t a highly regarded design. I don’t think I would push a Pro-Tec past 5000 miles, and a Wix Gold can handle 7500 miles easily.

Both the standard wix and pro tec say enhanced cellulose.

Both are made by Wix (for the most part, seems some Pro-tec have been showing up as Purolator made), the Pro-tec is the shop/budget filter.

Well I got my 4 pro tech filters today.
A bit disappointed, looks like 1 WIX and 3 Purolators by looking in the center tube. 1of the 3 has white overspray, burrs on holes and metal shavings on the threads.

Ok I cut one openattached is pics. Is a ok filter once cut. Hit or miss for burrs and metal shavings as 1 or 4 of mine had.
