Which oil filter would be best for a Saturn SL2 with 3000 mile oil changes-a Purolator Premium Plus or a Wix? The Purolator Premium Plus does not have a silicon valve and does not filter as well as the Purolator PureOne, but I feel that filter restricts oil flow too much. Or is the Wix a better choice? How do these filters perform in testing or in somebody's experience? And would a Purolator Premium Plus or a Wix be better for Auto-RX treatments? I am using chevron Supreme 5w30 oil, with 10w30 in the summertime.

If you are dumping after 3K, then try a ST at Wally-World. But to answer your question, go with the WIX...good stuff!

Probably doesn't matter which filter you use for 3K changes. Get your best deal and go with it.

Despite the obvious construction differences amongst filters, the efficiency and flow specifications remain mostly unknown. Advertising doesn't count.

I agree that for most applications, it doesn't matter. In my case, the oil filter is at risk for punctures from road "goodies". So for me, the thicker shell of the Wix is a definite advantage.
