WIX Oil Filter Fail!

That strong cleaning agent dissolved the glue. Are any filters made without glue, only with crimps? That would be the one to use for cleaning.

It's not an oil treatment so i doubt it's able to do that to the filter because there shouldn't be anywhere near enough in the oil through dilution. Did the oil reek of gas?
I do not think so, I had changed the oil previously two different times at 300mile intervals. Cut the filters open the other filters did not do this. I am going to dig it out of the trash and check the date on the can.
 
It’s a known M+H problem. We call them poppers in the oil filter forum. Sometimes the glue breaks apart and gets through the bypass valve or center tube and ends up in the engine.
