Wix "MP" filters

What is the difference between a WIX 51060 and 51060MP? Is the "MP" simply a 51060 sold in a "MultiPack"? Same company (Complete Filtration Services) sells 12 packs of 51060 and 51060MP. About a $5 difference between the two 12 packs (MP is cheaper).

i believe MP come shrink wrapped instead of in boxes

Yep...I believe it is "Master Pack" and the filters are plastic wraped individually as opposed to boxed. I assume the filter itself is the same. I just got a 51040MP from Rock Auto but the 51516 was in a box.

Thats the difference.Some companies take the base number and add BULK to it as well.Like PH8aBULK.

My brother has purchased the NAPA equilavent in a "Master Pack." The same filter, just simply shrink-wrapped instead of in it's own box. I beleive they're marketed towards shops but if you plan on keeping the vehicle for (12) oil changes, get it and save some money.

Same filter just different packaging.

I use Wix filters in the master packs as they are a bit cheaper. I don't believe there is any difference between the individually boxed filters and the shrink wrapped filters.
