Wix isn't changing over to Nitrile; they have offered it in very limited applications for many years. This isn't "new" by any means. It's been discussed before, but now someone feels cheated because they didn't realize that not all Wix were 100% silicone ADBV. Let's not panic here ...
They have offered, and continue to do so, some small quantity of applications that use nitrile in the Wix line. And nowhere in Wix site does it say that ALL filters use silicone ADBVs; it may infer it, and you may want to believe it, but the reality is that language does not exist anywhere on their site I can find.
To the contrary, they do have this statement directly on their Wixconnect site!
Quote:
*Some filters may or may not have these specific features due to OE requirements or other manufacturing processes. Refer to individual part numbers for specific details.
They are referring this comment to an exploded view pictoral of a filter, which shows and describes the silicone ABDV among the many filter characteristics. However, as you can read from their disclaimer, not all will have this feature. The same could be said of the base-end bypass valve; it's in the exploded view pictoral, so should I assume that ALL Wix filters have this, simply because a picture shows it?
They have covered their postier, whether you all like it or not.

Follow that link and then see the exploded view pictoral, and the disclaimer below.
