Feedback? Easily obtainable option for my new Passat. Running 7.5k max. Certainly some other options, but wanted some feedback on these first. Thanks.

Everything looks good with the ones I use in the Camry. Filter looks perfect when I throw it away.

I used them when I used to change oil for my Grandpa...they were always well made.

I've had good luck with even the low tiered WIX made ProSelect.

I prefer Mann and Mahle cartridges from Rock Auto though especially for European cars. They are normally cheaper too.

One thing I did notice the other day is that the Wix filter on the shelf for the Camry was now made in China. I left it there. The ones I've been buying were made in Poland I believe. I will be looking for a USA made filter for the next oil change.

Wix cartridges filters are OK. Usually made in Poland. The American companies tend to rip you off on the cartridge filters, charging you more for less.

But for a European car, you're better off with Mann, Mahle, or Hengst. They are reasonable on Rock Auto and eBay.

Using Wix cartridge filters on our Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.6 and they looked good new and when used. Also have used them on our CTS 3.6 and same thing - good looking new and looked fine after use. I run 5-6000 mile oil changes. These filters look like 7500 miles would be no problem and maybe a little more.

The same applies up here for all European cars, cartridge or spin on, and online or in stores. The OEM/OES brands tend to be about half the price of the various other options, and that's assuming you can find those other options.

In my opinion, Wix and Baldwin/Hastings filters are the only domestic oil filters that I would use on an European import.

Wix does the design to make sure they don't blow up in use.

However, as others have posted, Mahle and German Mann through a discounter like Amazon is the cheapest, best choice for these cars. I agree.

Assuming Napa gold cartridge filters are still Wix made. The last one I installed on my wife's camry was dissapointingly made in China. Some of the oddball filters I bought for 83 cents from rockauto were as well made and in USA and Germany

I always use Mann, Hengst, or Mahle as well in my VW.

I usually add one on at Amazon if I need to reach the $35 free shipping threshold, but my local Advance sells Mann also.

On my VW CC, the Purolater Classic is a rebranded Mann, so that can be useful on an Castrol Edge oil change deal bundled with Purolater filters.
