Wix ATF filter

Hi, i just got a quote from Wix for their ATF firter for my 95 honda passport. I am wondering if anyone have any experience with their ATF filter, i know they make good oil filter, what about their ATF filter. I was going to get hastings ATF filter, but found WIX to be half the price of hastings. Should i just get WIX or should stick with hastings? Thank you

I just did a trans pan drop/filter change on my '00 Grand Am GT. Filter fit good and seem to be of good quality. I wouldn't hesitate to any WIX filter.

I wonder if WIX really makes their own tranny filters? Never bought a WIX tranny filter.

It seems that every time I buy a tranny filter it turns out to have been a repackaged SPX Filtran. Of course
SPX Filtran is one of the largest makers of tranny filters in the world. I know they sell filters to some of the OEMs too.

mshu7, when u changed the filter, did you use the gasket that came with the filter or you used OEM gasket? If you used the gasket that came with it, how is it compared to the OEM gasket? Thanks

Yes, I used the gasket that came with the new filter. The gasket looked identical to my GM OEM gasket. Everything fit very nicely.

I replaced the Motorcraft A/T filter with a Wix on my '96 Windstar 3.8L. I did not use the pan gasket that came with it....as I have the OEM lifetime re-usable gasket that is still in great condition. The Wix went on with no problem, looked and fit as good as OEM. I am very comfortable with it.

I also installed a ATP (made by Magnefine) inline filter in the return line, which I plan to change with each oil change (3-4K miles).

i just got my WIX filter that i ordered through amsoil, and it's the same as the motorcraft filter! but about $10 cheaper than the dealer.

I'm well aware of other sources for the filter ..but 3-4k

?? Even at drop dead wholesale this has to be expensive.

Once a year is probably MORE than enough.
