Recently got an oil filter cutter, so I thought I'd share some photos

As Used on my 2007 Mazda MX-5 (Miata).
Installed on 1. November 2015 @ 97,157 miles
Removed on 14. Feruary 2016 @ 102,216 miles
Ran for 5,059 miles with Castrol Edge Full Synthetic 5W20 motor oil.

I'm not impressed by the glued filter media splice. Otherwise, this appears to be a very nicely constructed filter.

I've always had a great experience with the WIX/NAPA Gold filters. Not sure if that media has a tear or not?

Looks like a good filter for the money, as long as that seam is completely glued. Hard to tell from the photo. I'll assume it is. Otherwise, it probably would have opened up.

Well, I'm not a Certified Filter Cutter, but I hope my attempt was suitable.

I didn't note that I had considerable difficulty pulling the filter element from the can. It was a very tight fit. I don't know if the can got pinched by my cutter or what. I didn't have any difficulty disassembling the Motorcraft FL910S filters shown in another thread.

Suggested improvements to my methodology or presentation are welcome.

Yes, the can probably pinched in from the cutter. I've had that happen on a few filters also.
