Weird, maybe they changed it. Their 1334 was worse previously I thought.

One example:

"The Wix 51334 has a Beta Ratio of 2/20=22/40 and a nominal micron rating of 19."

So, maybe they got better?

They used to claim only 50% at 22 micron.

Actually as posted in 09 using the comparable % it was 95%@40um, so according to the beta they have improved it. But in addition to that the main point was that appearance doesn't tell the whole story regarding media area.

So, if the 5/1334 has more media than the P1 equivalents, does that mean it has more than the 5/1356 or the 5/7356(?)?

^^^See post #3574628 above where I first mention comparison of topic'd filter media area to the two smaller can applications. In short, I'd say yes. Running a 7356 on a Honda MM oci, so will be able to confirm at some point. That said, no problem running either topic'd filter or 7356.

For how small this filter is, it does seem to have a decent amount of media. No complaints there whatsoever. My only complaint is the price.

I wouldn't recommend running an oversized filter in this application at least. It would cause the filter to hang below the oil pan. Folks here do it without issues though.

Ah, right. I hadn't known about the new filter. Miss a lot without reading up in going on 2 years! Good to be back!

PS: I have 2 more Bosch D+ filters to go on my app from that deal a few years ago. Turns out it was a bad seal/install on the first one I tried. I updated that thread from the grave a few pages back to try to say it wasn't Bosch's incorrect part after all.
