Wix 51036 Cut Open

Cut open a new Wix 51036 to have a look. It's the equivalent to an ACDelco PF52. Forgot to take a picture of date manufactured, but it was manufactured on 7/21/15 Line D shift 3. Pleat count total is 54. It weighed 10.0 oz. Best looking glued seam I have seen on a filter in a while because it's hard to tell unless you look at it real good. I did take a picture of the seam side and the opposite side.

It does look very stout. I just put my 1st Wix on my lady's Camry Sunday. It was the 51394 on her car. It did feel like it had some weight to it. It's on there for at least 10k miles. I also have a 51356 for my Altima too. O Reilly's is where I can find them. The regular prices are actually pretty good too. $7.99 for the filter for my car. That's not a sale price either.

Very nice, too bad retail parts stores such as AAP, AutoZone or PepBoys don't carry them.

O'Reilly does-and they always seem to have some random coupon (like the Cash Countdown $5 off $10) to use on them. Or wait for the NAPA sale.

O'Reilly is where I got some too, and I did use the $5 of $10 coupon. The cost was $4.00 each before tax.

Cant wait to slap that puppy into my Beretta, but have to wait 6k more miles on the wix I have on there now. It's been a couple years now (2/2013). .. no idea how long it will take.

i agree also to bad wal mart don't carry them.. A lot more people would be able to buy them at a decent price rather then go to the smaller high priced auto parts places like some of the Napa stores which are high priced to the general public.

I hope WM never carries Wix filters....EVER.
Too many companies have ruined their products by being sold at WM. See, most manufacturing companies set a price amount that they will sell a product for. WalMart tells their suppliers how much money they will buy them for. There is a difference.
Quite often, something's gotta give.

When Walmart Canada started carrying Bosch and Purolator for a short period a while back, one could not get Purolator and Bosch from the "usual suspects." Even if quality isn't adversely affected, it's pretty hard to magically supply a boatload of other stores and keep your other vendors happy.

Got the media measured, and here is the total--63 x 3.625=228.38. The Hastings equivalent LF393 at 225 has basically the same amount of media.

Thanks for the cut and post of a brand new filter. This is a good looking filter with a good thread end pressure relief valve. Too bad you can't do before and after photos. I like to see them after the change too.

That's the same filter my truck takes. I have run 2 or 3 Wix on it. Always looked great when I cut them open after use.
