Wiper Blades Making Noise on Windshield

When the blade sweeps across the windshield, it makes a loud rubbing sound, like the blade is dragging across a dry windshield, which it's not. Any idea that the cause might be .... maybe too much blade pressure on the glass?

Did you install new blades? If you use Rain-X washer fluid it can cause the blades to chatter when the windshield is dry. You might want to clay bar the windshield glass to remove any imbedded dirt that Windex won't remove, this might be causing the noise as well.

Sometimes the blade lays down so the outside edge is making contact with the glass. Turn them on and get out and watch carefully. You might have to put an adjustable wrench on the end of the wiper arm and bend it a little so the rubber blade will sit straight against the glass.

after watching a video about wiper blades, i tried using WD 40, it did the job for me...just spray it on a clean cloth, wipe the blade a few times then wipe off the WD40 with a clean cloth...i couldn't believe all the dirt that was on the blade itself

Just clean your windshield and report again.

How should wiper arm pressure increase by itself? The corresponding springs
could only lose their tension, not gain in tension.

You have a Toyota. Get a set of Denso blades. Best you can buy and work great on Japanese cars. I've tried 'em all and these are just the best.
