I paid $4 for a gallon.
What is it made of?
Has anyone ever made their own?

Water with a splash of anti-freeze?

I think you posted twice but oh well......

$1.78 for the -20F blue stuff at Wally's......
Why make it any harder than it needs to be?!?

Methanol, water, and a surfactant.

No Walmart near me.

And $7-10/qt is the gas station price I see for motor oil, but I don't buy any because that would be silly.

Maybe it's also silly for you to buy blue juice there.......

There's gotta be somewhere else around you that's reasonable, no?!?

I buy the cheap blue stuff whenever/wherever its cheap. (Not at gas stations) Usually 2 bucks a gallon or so. Sometimes I get 8 gallons when they are a buck each.

In a pinch (needed to test the system and had no real stuff available) I made some from, as stated above....
Water, Rubbing alcohol, ONE DROP of Dawn dishwashing detergent.
The "oiliness" of coolant is the last thing you want.

The $1 per jug deal is a rare bird indeed.

Ethylene glycol is also more toxic than methanol, and the stuff found in coolant that don't need to be sprayed around.
