Notice to Win 7 / Win 8 users... October batch of Windows updates includes KB2949927. If you don't have Bitlocker (encryption on the drive) enabled, this KB will fail to install, and your computer may be stuck in a lengthy recovery loop, while Windows tries to revert it. Happened on two of my Win 7 machines. Thankfully, after some time, the machines recovered themselves. It just took quite a bit of time. I haven't been able to find a whole lot of info on this, other than this page: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/For...=w7itproinstall

Windows 7 update KB2952664 also fails. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...8f-edcf9ac1347b http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/348844-kb2952664-update-won-t-install.html http://www.infoworld.com/article/2833825...r-80242016.html They've pushed this piece of [censored] through 7 times and it still doesn't work. I recall back a few months ago it was an optional update but this time they pushed it through as important. It failed on my computer but showed as installed, so I uninstalled it and blocked it as it's apparently 3 .dlls that facilitate the change from windows 7 to windows 8 via Microsofts upgrade process. http://www.infoworld.com/article/2607794...kb-2952664.html
