I was in Walmart this morning and decided to check out the oil filters. There was not much there. I asked the attendant if Supertech was going away with Fram. He said that they would continue to carry Supertech and were out of most of them because of the end of Fram. I.e. people came in and it was Supertech or nothing, so they bought most of the Supertech.

Walmart will want to have a value tier re-branded & it remains to be seen what filters they'll use. Yes, stock is depleting rapidly.

I was at Walmart this morning and did my usual browse of the oil and filter section. I saw Purolator Tech TL14612 oil filters (the only size they had) with no price showing. This is the Fram 6607 equivalent that my daughters Mazda uses so I took one over to the TLC register for a price check which showed it to be $1.78. I walked back and had 2 in my hand when the WM guy who did the price check came and took them all saying it was a mistake that they were on the shelf. He said they were for the TLC (Tire and Lube Center) oil changes only and had been put out on the shelf by a 'dummy' who worked the night shift. He also said "Fram went bankrupt". I was able to buy the two I had in my hand for $1.78 each. I would imagine they are comparable to Fram Orange can filters efficiency wise even though they don't have a silicone ADBV. What are your thoughts on these filters for a 5 to 6K OCI? The COO was China but I was happy to see no louvers.

They're going to be perfectly adequate

Walmart will find a new manufacturer to be their oil filter supplier. It will be just a short matter of time.
Walmart is very successful for a reason too and you can be certain that they've had a backup plan all along and it's probably well into motion by now. Re-stocked Supertech filters will be on shelf soon.
