Because he was one of the person who tried to trim jobs in government, and a lot of the Asperger talk in public that were not politically correct, and as soon as anyone gets involved with politics someone will find things to smear with (it is the nature of politics).Wondering why the Elon hate. What did he do to you? That's right, absolutely nothing except trigger your jealousy gene.
He can do it himself. I don't like to be forced to do something for other people's dream (with my 401K).
If you always DIY and don't hire people more capable than you, you will never improve.Well don't give a person credit for getting things done when they can't do much themselves.
You do know how tech stock is valued right? It is never about current PE but about future growth potential. If you want a good PE and dividend, buy a dividend stock.Tesla's PE ratio is about 370. They have very little net profit. The stock is just a bit higher than it was 4 years ago. Let the Teslacians hang on. Meanwhile Bitcoin lost half its value this year.

I saw this.Up 28% so far. Bring home the groceries!
What's really scary is if the government took it all they could only pay off about 1/38th of the national debt. One trillion dollars is a an absolutely grotesque amount of money for one person to be worth. No, it's not actual money in the bank but it might as well be.
I think many of you are conveniently forgetting that in order for him or any other single entity to have that much money/wealth/value/whatever, that MANY others have to have a lot less. There is a finite amount and he has an absurdly large chunk of it, and that just seems very wrong considering the current state of world affairs. But hey, that's capitalism so good on him I guess.
A lot of the money is printed out of thin air, and when you print a lot of money out of thin-air they have to go somewhere. Without overbidding current assets too high (inflation), you have to create new assets by investing these money (VC and IPO).One trillion dollars is a an absolutely grotesque amount of money for one person to be worth. No, it's not actual money in the bank but it might as well be.

I worked for one of the most wealthy individuals on Planet Earth. I see it quite differently. The more durable goods we produce, the wealthier everyone is. The idea that a wealthy man's money sits in the piggy bank is utterly absurd. One trillion dollars is a an absolutely grotesque amount of money for one person to be worth. Finally someone who understands Capitalism.I worked for one of the most wealthy individuals on Planet Earth. I see it quite differently. The more durable goods we produce, the wealthier everyone is. The idea that a wealthy man's money sits in the piggy bank is utterly absurd.
What it does is employ hundreds of thousands of skilled people, raising the overall standard of living markedly. Period, end of story.
I always like these examples...Looks like Elon's net worth could hit $1.1T tomorrow. SpaceX does not turn a profit but that is due to heavy capital expenditures.
The real story is, this is Musk's company; Elon will still control more than 80% of the voting rights.
How rich is Elon? How much is $1T in comparison? Well, #2 Larry Page is worth a paltry $300B.
Disruptive technologies for the win. Go big or go home.
Interesting day tomorrow. The real money just might be in the AI business unit...
