Will Lowe's accept Craftsman warranty exchanges?

Craftsman must have an office in Canada. The new one will be made by Black and Decker, maybe will be better than the one that is broken no matter where it’s made. I see them made in Taiwan on the packages for some. Tools seem to be pretty well made now, having bought a lot of new the last two years. I can’t say the old USA was really that good just out of nostalgia.

^This. Suppose I could wait until the wrench is made in the USA and exchange it then, but I'm not holding my breath. And I guess the Chinese one will break before that.

When will that be?

If you really need this type of tool then I would get something that is durable or just adapt with a short ratchet or something.

I know i will be beaten to a pulp but
Craftsman should just require you to send this stuff back to them.
Yeah I know but less drama for all.

They do now. Or at least for me maybe I abused the warranty too much every month for around 7 months lol. Them and Stanley basically told me they won’t help me anymore unless I send the old ones back that’s why you haven’t seen any from me recently.

And it really depends on the Lowe’s store. You could just do like I seen a guy do at mine after they refuse to replace it is go back to the tool section grab a new one and leave your old one in place of it lol. Around here Ace won’t do it at all.

I ship daily anyway and my nearest stores are 20 miles away. I'd rather ship it and avoid clerks who don't know or stores that don't have any inventory.

I bought Craftsman because there was a Sears 2 miles from me and I could pick up a replacement quickly. Not paying shipping to return a tool when there is a local source.

If your local source complains or doesn't have inventory its better to ship it and avoid the drama.
Or you could waste all day and get nowhere

FWIW, i usually just toss any potential in store tool warranty into my vehicle. It’s not really worth the time to make a dedicated trip to a store to get a warranty. However, next time you go to Lowe’s for anything else, the broken tool will already be in your car, so doing the warranty thing isn’t as much of a hassle.

I found Gearwrench makes the identical type of wrenches.

I'd just return the whole set, if you bought them in a set. Otherwise, the manager should break apart a new set, and mark the whole thing as a return. I know, I did this at Lowes almost a year ago. Same gear wrench, just in 14mm. Honestly, it was technically my fault it failed.

The current state of Craftsman is a bummer but a wrench made in China that works is better than a broken one made in the USA.
^this
It sucks when quality vintage tools break, but that's the way things go sometimes. A working import is better than a defunct domestic. Besides, the newer Craftsman seem to work pretty well, and I have yet to round a nut with one.
