Will high silicone hurt my motor?

Hi guys. I have a new 6.0 PSD. I did my first oil change at 3077 miles, and put in Royal Purple 15W40 at that time, and also installed an Oil Guard bypass filter. I sent my oil for analysis and the report came back as being fine for a new motor. The silicone however was high (245ppm) due to new seals not dirt. I didn't think of this when I put in the expensive stuff. Of course, I'm sure that these levels won't go down for some time, but I was hoping to run this fill of RP for about 10,000 miles. Will the high silicone levels that I'm sure will develop for some time, hurt the motor? Or should I be changing the oil every 3000 to flush it out?
 
To the best of my knowledge, the silicon is probably coming from the sealant used on the oil pan. Too much can cause the oil to start foaming, and that can result in rotten engine performance. Don't know of any way to get rid of it except to change the oil.
I'd run what you have until you get a suggestion of performance problems, then change oil.
You might want to use a less expensive non-synthetic for a couple drain intervals until you are convinced most of what is going to leach out has done so.
 
I would do a few low mileage oil changes but the Bypass filters are claimed to remove most if not all damaging particles so do a full flow change as required. The silicone is as stated. I would do an anylsis at the recommended oil change interval to see what is going on .

The analysis can't tell the difference between the silicon from silicone gaskets & sealants, the silicon from silane antifoam, and the silicon from silica (dirt).

Only the dirt is a problem, and your bypass filter will remove all of that except particles too small to matter...less than the oil film thickness.

Dredging back in my memory, seems that I recall that excessive silicone from the sealant can cause foaming of the oil. This will lead to poor running.
Not going to hurt the engine, but if it starts running poorly, change the oil.

CAT uses the same style injectors as Navistar. Running these engines low on fuel and sucking air can cause injector damage. Could this be a issue with foaming?

Gene,
Low fuel has nothing to do w/ "foaming" as it is called.
There is an additive in diesel oil that provents this. It does get depleted as time wears on but w/ a by pass and a good oil, esp syn, the additive isn't taxed as hard and subsequently lasts longer.

Air in the fuel system will score the injector plunger and barrels. Any PSD will benefit from the "prepump" mod. I've gotten many compliments on how "quite" my psd is

Again, no, the sealant and/or anything like that causes foaming, directly.
A heavily taxed oil may show signs but that above won't cause it.

Any by pass is better than none.
I use an oil guard, and since 5k or so on my PSD. The oil always comes back "normal". MY SI was also high at break in but leveled out @ 15k or so.

Obviously air in the oil would be totally different from air in the fuel. Oil drives the injectors. Fuel flows through the injectors.

First, the anti-foam is a high molecular weight silicone, whereas the gasket material leaching is low molecular weight silicone.

The silicon levels should come down as the RTV slows its leaching. Unless it's over 50 ppm, I wouldn't be too concerned.
