Wife's Pregnant!

Congratulations. That you are over-joyed with the experience is awesome.

A few of the comments implying that one can mold your children with 100% excellent outcome concern me though. There are no guarantees with children and I am preaching to the choir for those with adult children.. Physical health issues, mental health issues, and just about everything else results in no guarantees. We all have experienced it. Sometimes the children thought to have been raised with the highest standards still go sideways. Others that were troublesome in youth go on to become very successful. I'm in favor of carefully letting them make some mistakes (not overly excessive on the reins) and develop responsibility, but to each their own. Often you don't have a choice in this. We were blessed that my wife could stay at home most of the time.

Best wishes to you, your wife, and your upcoming family. Have you thought of names yet?
My wife always wanted a Jr, so he’ll be John Jr!

My sister has three so far and wants more lol man they are a handful to watch but they are always so funny. My 8 year old niece the oldest one loves to help me work on my beetle. She already knows all the tools and parts names too.

Hey everybody, yes, it has been a busy 4 days, indeed!

We are extremely thankful. Britta went into labor around 3:30 am, and gave birth to our first child, a little boy, who arrived almost 4 weeks early, at 11:15 am. 6 lbs, 6 Oz, 19”.

For her first, things actually progressed pretty rapidly.

Thank God, John Jr. was born totally healthy and normal, with only slightly high bilirubins.

Britta also came through without issue!

Little dude is eating well, sleeping a lot, and going through plenty of diapers!

Thanks so much for the prayers and well wishes, and congratulations to the other dads and dads-to-be here on BITOG!

I feel really honored to be a part of this age-old tradition of fatherhood, and my hope and my very fervent prayer is that I could be the best dad that I can absolutely be!

Can’t wait for him to get old enough for me to start teaching him everything I know!

Congratulations. We had our first last February. Let me tell you as a fellow first time dad, hold on tight...time flies. You will blink and he will be going on 1.

Tell you want, one thing that is really cool at this age, is how fast they change. It has been fun watching him start to open his eyes more, and, to start looking around at different things.

Yesterday, for the first time, he heard my voice as my wife was holding him, and looked over at me. That was neat.
