Wife's New Stihl FS 131

anyone who thinks Stihl makes the best equipment is delusional. its by far the least reliable. redmax shindawia were the best . now We are forced to buy echo. no way am ever buying another Stihl product ever. zama carbs!
The only person whining about Stihl being the best, in this thread, is you. Last time I checked even a Redmax is capable of failure as well. 😉

Stihl is having that "Double Warranty" promotion. Buy either a 6 pack of their Ultra Oil or 1 Gal of Moto Mix to get 4 years of warranty. We got that 4 yr warranty on our FS40C too. Another note is what's holding both weed eater's on the wall are guitar holders.
The double warranty has been a thing for many years, not sure when it started. What's new is that they doubled the base warranty on "power tools" (not chainsaws or cut-quicks) from 1yr to 2yr. The 1yr & 2yr warranties can be doubled with the purchase of an oil six-pack or a gallon of MotoMix. (non commercial use only, ie home owners)

Nice, even if they increased the price it's probably a good idea to have an OEM warranty for as long as we can. I never needed to take the old FS40 into any dealer, just maintenance. I was running it at 60:1 ratio but the son was having a bear of a time keeping it idling. I never adjusted the carburetor for the leaner mixture so that doesn't help. Ended up pouring in some of that MotoMix I bought 50:1 & it's idling like it should again. I still think the spark arrestor needs to be cleaned again, because it idled on 60:1 fine for a couple years now, but if I take the arrestor off I'm just going to leave it off for good...ha!
