Whenever my wife tries to upload a pic or two, or tries to read a friend's blog on myspace.com, she gets the "Page Not Displayed" page.

We have an ActionTec router and her computer, mine and my daughters are all networked through it. The router is connected to a 2Wire DSL modem. We all run Windows XP.

Now, the weird thing is that the last time she got the "Page Not Displayed", then almost immediately my computer will get the same and we have to wait a minute for the internet to start working again.

I don't get the page not displayed thing on my computer if I try to upload files.

Her computer has the printer attached to it so we go through hers to print if that makes any difference.

Any suggestions?

Try directly connecting her computer to your ethernet from your modem and see if that works. I had a lot of trouble with a similar situation when I brought my old router to my friend's house, hopefully you can get it figured out (i'd like to know too)

Lame router? model #? See if it has a software update to address the issue.
Try default settings to see if problem goes away.

And, make sure you have up to date drivers on your computers. Windows update is a good place to start.

I also seen issues with routers overheating. Make sure the office isn't piled on top of it.

BTW, I avoid Balkin, actiontek, trendynet routers. Sorry, but every linksys, dlink, and netgear that I've set up still works fine with none of the issues that I encounter with former three.

Usually, firmware updates along with careful setup will make 'em all work better.

Does the problem also occur if printer is turned off?

If your daughter is running P2P software, and it is not configured properly, it can hog up the bandwidth.

I agree, check the router and the modem. Those things overheat and start giving errors, or rebooting on you.
