What makes everyone think they are so good?

NOTHING, please don't use them, this way the XG4386 can be in stock more often at my local walmart!

more for us!

Fram Ultra has more then adequate flow needed for the vehicles they are designed for.

No kidding. I don't exactly live in a backwater town, and getting ahold of an XG2 is next to impossible. Always out of stock.

dood... you've got almost 6k posts. Do you really need to ask this question? There are dozens of threads on the Ultra.

Great filter IMO, if not the best on the market.

+1 You're welcome. As for pm for your wife's b'day, unlike the topic hadn't seen that posted here recently. However if remembering that is an issue my suggestion would be to write it down somewhere outside this forum. HTH

You think you're gonna get good flow when the filter's catching all those 20 micron sized particles?

Sure ... a properly designed full synthetic media oil filter will do just that. I have confidence that there has been good oil flow with every filter I have used, and that includes full synthetic, synthetic/cellulose blend, and cellulose oil filters.

Its not redundant. The first rule of Framclub is...you always talk about Framclub...

What does it take to be a member of the Fram club?

I only use the TGs and the Ultra. I have never endorsed the Extra Guard here. To say either the TG or the XG is "junk" is just an opinion. Show me a trend of failures in either line, then Ill start avoiding them completely. Of the (7) vehicles and (3) OPE engines I service, zero are currently using Fram filters. I can take photos and make a list if you all prefer. (I actually have one TG in my stash for my Jeep that I got for free from Meijer.. I am hesitant to use it because my Jeep is so picky with filters and seems to like the Purolator made MC/ Mopar filters with the base end bypass setup.) (I also have a P1 air filter in my Jeep right now.. very thick, full of pleats and oiled down for dust collection.. Pretty blue too.)

To knowingly use a filter that has a trend in failures is what I would consider a fan club member coolaide drinker. And no I do not mean using old stock.. which is what we have been seeing a lot of on BITOG lately. I would use those without hesitation. The P1 used to be highly regarded here and the old stock filters always appear near perfect.

Start using new stock and post constant positive results for about a year and then I will be impressed and start using them. I am not brand partial at all as long as I am 100% confident in the product.

Thank you for reading ladies and gentlemen and have a wonderful evening.

From the specs and those that have cut open they seem very good quality in their construction and filter media and they are priced right.
whats not to like? Oh the name Fram. lol The thing is though for all the dislike this brand of filters has you never read about any failures like tearolator.

Waiting for my OCI to be due to cut it open!

In terms of price, they are not very well priced here in Canada.

They are priced @ $14 vs my OEM for Mazda Skyactive $11

CONFIDENTIAL

(leaked from Framclub headquarters)

Want to join our ranks?

Have you ever:
-ran an OCOD for 1,000,000,000 miles then reused it for another 1,000,000 miles, just because a replacement would cost 4 whole dollars?
-rejected a Purolator product, even though you have never in fact used one?
-agreed with Zeeosix?

If you meet one out of three of these criteria, you are now iducted into the clubhouse. Secret handshake to follow...

My Jeep is really picky about filters too, and the Tough Guard has been one of the very best on mine. You ought to try it some time for experimentation's sake if nothing else.
