Why some oil filters have nitrile adbv?

Some Asian made oil filters look similar, but are built by different parent companies. Here's what PGI builds under other "private brand" names at the Vietnam factory. They also have a China factory, but not sure if other private brand names under PGI are built there, or the same ones.

I did some more digging. Highline Warren owns Service Champ. We know VAFI makes those as you posted above. Also Highline Warren and PGI have headquarters in Memphis TN with manufacturering in Massachusetts. Lots of similarities if you ask me.

Good info ... then Highline Warren would be like AAP or O'Reilly with respect to a connection to PGI. Maybe things are changing so fast that the list of shown private brands made by PGI is in a state of flux.

I lament what the filter market has become these days. I can't keep up with all the changes and name branding.

Oh, how I long for the good ol' days when an American sourced Wix filter was a well made, decent filtering, easily available product.
Time to stick to good ol orange can frams. That’s what I’m switching to

Remember while back when some came with silicone adbv? I do
Think they still do, unless some permanent change has taken place just recently. With the newer Champ Lab configuration with the Ecore center tube they may be going nitrile now. Not sure if all PH Frams are being made by Champ Labs, or just some model numbers.

I don't think the PH Frams have changed. Still have the silicone ADBV. Some had different ADBVs during the "supply shortage".
There construction has gone back and forth also - last one I saw in WM a month ago was a Champ luber finer construction e-core. What else has changed is a guess.

Without cutting a bunch open we don't know - better or worse. My point was there not the EG we had for years that was basically the same - which I agree were a fine filter for a reasonable OCI.

^^^ Agree ... I updated my posts and recognized that the configuration on the PH Frams is different with Champ Labs. The Ecore center tube looks OK, but the ADBV is now black on those, so probably nitrile. They should be using silicone if it's still rated at 10K miles. Not sure if all PHs are going to be Champ Lab made, or only some models in the PH line.

Recent anecdote at WCW yt show the Champ Labs orange can ecore using (burn test proven) nitrile adbv. That despite the box still saying silicone. 10k mile "rating" change based on the use of silicone adbv.

As for topic, agree with @Furious thought early on.
