Why refinish wheels when these are so cheap

The problems I have with a refurbished wheel from some of these online vendors;

you should know what type of refurbished repaired damage there was:

Was it a crack, and was it welded back together with the proper technique?
Was it bent at the Hub area slightly from hitting a curb? Or was it just a little bit of curb rash which is very minor.
So now you mount your $200 a piece plus tires and your tire guy says this wheel is out of true or out of balance and needing lots of weight.

So now you have to have the tire taken off, put the old one back on, go home and Rebox the wheel/s and return them and that's if you're in the window of returnability.
I'll pay the extra hundred bucks a wheel and be done with it! OEM wheels are relatively low cost now. This is just my two cents from Friends experiences.

If the wheel is damaged or in some way unsafe - replace it.

If it is just cosmetic then just live with it -

Maybe you can polish it with something or give it a good cleaning -

I will admit I worried about this stuff when I was in high school - I even used that white stick to dress up my white letters on the side walls.

But if you list all the things in you life that are important - where does this rank?

If it number 854 forget about it

If it is in the top 5 --- make another list.
