I was in the Tractor Supply store (on the Virginia side of Bristol) yesterday and they had a "Manager's Special" going on some grades of Chevron Supreme. I think it was 10w30 and 10w-40 for $1.78 per quart. Maybe at this store they were just trying to get rid of these presumably slower selling grades?
They had lots of the old Havoline formula and the other Chevron viscosities at about $2.25 per quart. There were cases piled to the ceiling of the new Shell Rotella 15w40 for $8.90 per gallon. I checked to see if they were discounting the older Rotella, but it was the same price.
If anybody wants to hoard the old Havoline, you might want to check your local outlet. They didn't have any of the "deposit shield" at this one.
