Why I am going to try FP

Working at a dealership I have noticed how bad the gas around here can be. We see numerous problems with plugged EGR systems and misfire codes due to dirty injectors. The gas here in Chicago is blended to reduce tailpipe emissions, which seems to cause problems with dirty fuel systems. I have noticed that when filling up with gas in rural Wisconsin that I acheive better gas mileage and easier cold starts.

All of this makes me believe the gas sold in the Chicago area is crap. I am going to try FP in the hopes that it can improve the gasoline, help prevent deposits, and clean my fuel system. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I can post some good results on what the FP has achieved.

In many areas of rural WI we still get real gas none of that ethanol crap though it is getting harder to find.

yes that crappy ethanol blend is practically everywhere now.


i only buy gas a few stations that actually have the good 87 straight gas.

I find it interesting to read about your experience at the dealership. I have 2 acuras and 1 honda of 1990's vintage that have been getting FP every fill up for about a year now. I have noticed easier starting, slightly better gas milege and smoother idling.

It also amazes me that these people with fueling problems never ever add FI cleaners to the tank.

I never let my fuel system get dirty enough to cause problems. 3-4 bottle of various FI cleaners a year is all it takes to keep me happy.

Its no different then telling everyone that 3k/3m oil changes are solely for jipplylube and big oil company profits. I do like laughing at those who end up with sludge monsters caused by pushing that OCI while using the cheapest quickoilchangeplace.

I remember working at the stealership. Most problems were caused by negligent owners and poor advice in the owners manual.

JBM: It should be labeled clearly on the pump. "This gasoline may contain up to 10% Ethanol."

Except in MN where it is implied, because all gas is 10% ethanol, except specially labelled 92 octane pumps.

Both E-10 and regular gas are available in my area. I've run both in different cars and really can't notice a difference. No appreciable mileage change either.

apparently ethanol is all the rage....ford is going to be making 250k ethanol capable vehicles next year... oh, wait, they dont run on straight ethanol... which means the engines are being made to run on 10% of it and if your engine isnt ethanol capable you can sue if it causes damage right? yeah...

which brings me to my next question, if ethanol is just an additive and you dont need any special engineering to allow an angine to run on 10% then why does ford make it sound like it's doing something next-gen? even though cars from the 70's are running on it... just to sound like it gives a rats a** about the environment? no.... way.

That's not very comforting news, AcuraTech, but I do have a lot of confidence in FP60 despite how little experience I have with it.

I just wish I could visually see some of its cleaning results. It has kept my exhaust completely soot free, so that's one good sign I guess. In the near future, I will be replacing my spark plugs, so maybe I can get a better idea of how well it's doing then.

Because the cars that FORD is coming out with are E85 cars I believe. They wouldn't make a big fuss about it otherwise. They're going to run on 85% Ethanol which our cars cannot do. And BTW E85 rocks from what I hear. Your mileage is slightly lower but the gas is cheaper and runs super clean in your combustion chambers. Think about how long between your oil changes would be. Months!
