I recently purchased some LC and FP from Odis Beaver. He is a great guy and will bend over backwards to help you in any way. I have been using both products in my vehicles, and the vehicles of my friends and family. I am very impressed with the LC. I have witnessed some surprising cleaning ability (removing varnish from valve covers, and removing crap from my trucks engine, that has always been used with a G3 or G4/5 synthetic), even with the small amount I have been using (6 ozs). Many of my friends say that their engines are starting to run better after a couple of weeks with the LC. I can't comment on the anti-oxidative powers, as I haven't been doing any used oil analysis, but that seems to be where the product really shines.

Now the FP. I, nor anyone else I have been giving the FP to, have witnessed any consistant gas mileage increases. Now understand that it has been very hot and humid around here lately, and that A/C use, might be affecting the gas mileage enough to keep us from getting consistant results. One friend of mine has a mustang cobra, and said that the FP cured a small off idle stumble that the car has had since he bought it. He said that he was starting to think that it was either normal, or just his imagination, until the FP cured it. Several friends have noticed that their vehicles run slightly better with the FP. I am starting to think that it is a good fuel system cleaner if nothing else.

I am quite satified with both products (even if I never see a gas mileage increase with FP), and I think that they are well worth the price.

I am thinking of trying Molakule's FP/nuetra mix, to see the results.

Don't forget add (Outlaw) toluene mix with Neutra/FP.

That's his comment.

1. 2.5 quarts Fuel Power, 1 quart Neutra, and one 4 oz. can of Outlaw. This gives you the following advantages:
a.) Cleaning of Fuel System,
b.) Cleaning of Combustion Chamber deposits,
c.) A slight increase in octane rating for marginal fuels,
d.) lubricates and plates valve seats to reduce valve recession.

The treatment rate is 1 oz. per 10 gallons."

I posted some excellent numbers with FUEL POWER from the first week of May.

http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=000580

While the numbers since then have been consistent -- overall -- I notice that in the hottest weather that the JEEP does a bit better with 89 versus 87 octane, a casualty of reformulated gas I am assuming. The only noticeable difference is in idle stability, and maybe a 1 mpg drop in highway driving when under a heavy load.

Otherwise, the mpg numbers are as before at recommended treatment rates. (And, obviously, it is important to have "corrected" mpg numbers -- no odometer maladies due to tire/gear changes, etc, over several thousand miles. Eliminating other variables helps too: I fill at the same station, same pump [unless my wife has to get some on a very long work day]).

The above [Outlaw] mixture might be "the cure" for summertime crappy gasoline. Gonna have to try it, see how the $$ benefits work out.

This in no way changes my opinion of FUEL POWER. One free tank out of every five makes it simply too expensive NOT to use: mpg, combustion chamber cleaning benefits, keeping the tank fuel stable, etc.

As to LC, I love what it has done for the JEEP (am currently running REDLINE 10w30 w/o it on this interval), and for my other two, quarter-century old cars. They receive FP (and I can, when I get around to it, recurve the distributors on both . . no more hot soak problems on these carb'd animals, etc), and LC has been used in both to start the clean-up process.

Outlaw in my neck of the woods does not contain MMT anymore. I used a 16 oz. bottle of Prestone 0-60 with MMT in my Molakule blend. It’s getting harder to find MMT these days.

I always fill at the same shell station. I always run 87 octane in the camry, and 93 in my truck and camaro. My speedometer in my truck has been recalibrated to compensate for my non-stock tire size and gear ratio.

I am not saying that FP will NOT increase your fuel economy.......I am just saying that I (and the others I have given it to) have just not seen it yet. Perhaps fall will be a better time to test the results (less A/C use).

My most recent UOA ( 11,000 mile run) with LC in for the last 2000 miles, showed 8% sulfer and 12% nitration..with 0% oxidation ..previous ## at 32000 miles were 36 Sulfer 27 Nitration ,28 Oxidation.. Better with then without ..I don't know ...didn't run the same ## of miles .

As for FP I have not notice an increase in milage ( then again A?C has been running for 3 month now) but did pull the plugs after 3000 miles, and they were in like new condition

I only tried a quart of FP in one car and was not able to discern any change but that may simply not have been enough time. Plus, PI and Neutra used periodically in it as well so maybe nothing to work with.

As to LC, the one engine I have had analysis on turned out to be a poor choice due to possible coolant contamination, just don't know so results are not worth discussing. Current sample (different engine) is at Blackstone but again, LC added halfway through the 7500 OCI so not a true test either.

It does appear to help to keep the oil from turning darker as the miles pile on but does the amber/lighter color for a longer time indicate it is prolonging the life of the oil, don't know. Haven't seen many UOA of the LC as yet so IMO the verdict is out on prolonging the life of oil.

DH,

MMT is a manganese-based fuel octane improver found in 104+ and Pennzoil's Outlaw additive.

We need more chemists on the board to share their experience and knowledge.

I thought this was some bad stuff to use.

Do you know how stable
solvent neutrals
or Toluene or

Naphthalene's (PNA's)
are? What temps do they start to degrade?
And how close are they to being called Benzenes?

Also, I believe that the PNA's don't per se increase octane, but yet they seem to, is this correct?

Had to throw in my $.02. As for FP, in my 03 Maxima, I have been able to drop to 87 octane and maintain a high level of performance (no timing retard noted at all). *NOTE* This is not an octane booster nor am I using it as such. It has netted about a 1-2 MPG increase with its use as well. This was acheived under truly unscientific but consistent testing. On my 00 Xterra with over 100K, I used MolaKule's brew of FP and Nuetra (thanks Dr!) for about 3K and got some incredible cleaning of the carboned-up combustion chambers. I just got back from my Outer Banks vacation but had to stop by my friend's performance shop to have a look with the boroscope (my wife hates me

). They look fantastic! Very clean and no more uneven build-up that was plaguing them. I'm also using it on 2 LE vehicles but haven't been at work for the past 3 weeks so I don't know how they are doing yet.

I am also using LC in the Max, the Crown Vic, and the van but have no used oil analysis thus no conclusions yet. Gauging the color of the oil on the Max's dipstick, I would say its doing fine.

I hope Odis gets the marketing help he needs to bring this product out for everyone to enjoy, he really is a swell ole guy.

I just received back a report from Blackstone on my Camry, 158,000 miles, OCI 7500 over 10 months. All city driving. This engine has had 18 used oil analysis reports almost all at about the 7500 mile mark. Amsoil 10W30 since new (confirms that Amsoil has increased the BORON to about 20 PPM, now two samples confirm this)

Lead on this engine has always been high, the lowest ever was 14 ppm with 2600 miles early in its life, previous 3 used oil analysis results were 38,43,32.

This sample had two revisions. First at 4000 miles I drained out one quart of oil and added one with the BREW of 3:1 mixture of Schaeffers #132 and LC. Also, LC added at every 1000 miles after the quart added for a total of about 5 ounces of LC.

Results, well, lead dropped to 18 ppm which is huge drop from last three samples, all wear metals decreased slightly as well. The viscocity increased to a low 40W but I feel this is due to the #132 which I am willing to accept on an engine this old. Insolubles about the same as previous so no drop there which I was expecting but only had .4

So, was it the drain out a the 4000 miles of a quart or the BREW, not sure but this time I am not changing out a quart, went with the BREW from the oil change and will leave it in for 7500 miles and LC about every 1000 miles and see.

Just an excellent report on an egnine that has always had high lead.
