FP with 1997 Lexus LX450

Might sound stupid, but check your spark plugs. I had an old '86 Audi 4000 that would ping at light throttle with Champion and Bosch plugs, but was quiet as a mouse with Autolites. I couldn't for the life of me understand that either, since the Autolite plug that the catalog called for was actually one heat range hotter than either the Champion or Bosch.

Might not hurt to throw a different set of plugs in it and see what happens.

I mentioned it earlier in this thread too regarding the Spark plugs. I had an Olds Bravada that knocked all the time unless I ran 93 octane. I decided to change the plugs and noticed 2 of the 6 were improperly gapped. Fresh AC plugs fixed the problem (Bosch had been in there).

Bosch plugs suck the schwank, especially in GM applications. I've seen more than one piston melt down because of detonation in a modded supercharged 3800 V6 that could be pinned to Bosch plugs being too hot.

I've only had good luck with Bosch in European applications, but as my Audi proved, they're not always the hot ticket.

Oh well, that car was a POS anyhow.
