Why haven't gas prices gone down?

Does your power company offer time of use pricing?

Might want to look into that and a home battery backup system you can program to cover the most expensive times of the day and recharge at night.
It's a small city owned electric company covering most of the county. They are so far in the past on everything except pricing. There website looks like a MySpace page. I usually heat with wood in the winter but unfortunately I ran out during the cold snap and had to heat with electric. My normal winter bill is a little over a $100. Many of the people in this county are way below the poverty level and had bills over a thousand and will be looking at having there utilities shut off for lack of payment. It's just another town that lost all it's manufacturing years ago and dried up. Good place to retire but I would hate to be a young person trying to make a living here.

Saving thousands? My electric bill last month was $700 and that's without charging any vehicles. If I had electric cars I couldn't afford to drive them. That plus I'm in a spot where solar would be useless. The sunlight we get here everybody else got a week ago. These great big ole hills block the sun.
My summer electric bill hit $600 when Russia invaded Ukraine. Plus my wife was commuting in my Expedition. That's what motivated me to finally bite the bullet and get solar and storage. So I got a two-fer. I save on both power and gas. Of course, there was an upfront investment but the 36-month ROI made it worth it. My situation is somewhat unique because I have free nights.

In the past three days in the Greater Toronto Area the average price has risen 11 cents per liter. That’s 37 cents per gallon 😡
Do you ever go to a card lock station? The one here doesn't move prices up(or down) nearly as fast as the regular stations. I don't use it often but I did on Tuesday as it was 1.24 still, while the other stations jumped up to 1.36!

I didn’t think we were allowed to go to one of those stations unless we were driving a big rig. There are a bunch of them in my travels

I mostly buy at Costco though and when I got gas there on Sunday they were 15 cents cheaper than the stations nearby

When I look back Katrina caused a huge gas price spike overnight .
Gas here is $3.09 to $3.29 but Diesel is $4.50 😔

I don't understand why Diesel took such a hit.
Anyway I got Sunoco yesterday for $3.08
A couple summers ago gasoline was super cheap here because they were refining so much diesel to ship to Europe due to Ukraine, that they had a glut of gasoline they were trying to move.

I wonder if the there grabbing diesel to export to Europe again?

Given its Thursday and nothing seems to be changing in the ME I think some people are getting nervous.

I buy at Costco and it went up about 50 cents from a month ago. Glad I have BP stocks and hybrids to drive. Fishing and driving my truck and boat will increase my monthly gas bill here in about 2 weeks. Hope it goes back down.

I’ve got 40 gallons of ethanol free that Ive been hoarding. With my Mperks it was $1.98 a gallon and may just need to fill up my only car that needs it. I’m working from home for a few weeks thank goodness.
