Why German Cars Have So Much Drama

Obviously this YT video is AI generated, but it short and I found it entertaining, especially after owning an Audi.

Some points from the video:

- German engineers ask "How can we make this smart enough to break itself?"
- German cars don't fail. They overthink themselves into retirement.
- Everything is tied to a sensor's feelings. One sensor gets sad and the whole car shuts down.
- You don't drive German cars, you emotionally support them.
- German cars don't age, they malfunction.
- German cars are loyal until the warranty expires, then they ghost you.
- Maintenance isn't optional, it's a religion. Miss one service interval and the car will punish you financially.
- German cars don't break from abuse, they break from disrespect.

As much as I Love Euro cars, especially their wagons, I’ve resisted ever owning one out of fear of insanity and or bankruptcy. MB, BMW, and my personal favorite the Saab 9-3 Aero wagon. For a couple of decades their siren song has beckoned me to the rocks and so far I’ve resisted, so I just settled for this poor facsimile. 🙂

Please don't post AI slop.

You Tube needs to have a setting for turning off A.I. generated videos on your feed. Notice they are quick to take down a video if the you tuber plays musical clips and comments on it. But they allow these robot videos so they can make more money. It's taking the humanity away from people. At least called it "A.I. Tube" if they're gonna do that. It's deceptive and unfair to viewers. It's cold too. Not good for the soul.

Yes, they need a way to filter this crap out. No one wants it and it's going to pollute the content people receive and turn them off to the service.

Same with all the Chinese A.I. generated websites that have turned the internet into a junkyard. Google any automotive search terms and the first several pages are all A.I. trash. They just steal content, change the wording a little, and throw it up there with ads. Google owns you tube I think. Maybe I'll try Rumble.

I think I like the simpler cars designed in and for the European market, like the Focus. It was a competent handling, practical car.

I once had a runaway 1980 VW diesel Rabbit - slime green. Had a Blaupunkt stereo and all it played was jazz, especially Maynard Ferguson. Randomly, either the throttle linkage or something else would cause it to accelerate uncontrollably at full throttle. Braking would just burn the brakes out, so I would have to just turn off the ignition off. Never figured out what caused it. I would kick the pedal hoping to dislodge it, but it just kept revving. It was like the movie "Christine." It would randomly start playing jazz when the car was parked with no key in the ignition. Thinking back on it now, maybe it was because I had removed the governor on the throttle linkage... The engine seized up on a trip back from Wisconsin to Michigan, and my roommate and I had to hitchhike back, which wasn't too smart. I had forgotten that it burned oil and neglected to check the oil level... got a high mileage Chevy Chevette after that for $400 I think it was. Drove it into the ground and sold it for $100. Long live the Jazz Rabbit!

Another vote for no AI garbage.
Noted.

The only obvious thing showing AI is the pronunciation of Autobahn. Somebody had to have come up with this script.

You guys have noticed this thread is in the Humor section, right? I'm guessing not.

Saw Maynard Ferguson live in the 70s. I'm guessing the throttle kicked wide open when he hit the highest of the high notes!

Yeah could have been! Mcaurthur park maybe. He was in his prime in the 70s. The MFhorn albums were so good. He sang through his horn and he did it his way. Wasn't afraid to be himself. Most exciting trumpet player in history, by far. Loved his ballads.

I had a 2006 Focus Wagon for awhile. I wish Ford still made them….practical, reliable and inexpensive.
