Why does my local NAPA suck so bad?

Remember lots of jerks who can't hold down a job start their own businesses. I had a radio shack owner/manager accuse me of being a terrorist by giving a fake address. (I gave his min wage employee the store address on a previous visit.

Both of my local NAPA auto parts stores are excellent. Everyone there seems very helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. They all seem like they are more than just employees at an auto parts store, they are car guys themselves. The same goes for my local Lee Auto parts store.

my local NAPA is awesome, being i have an older vehicle i used to be in there all the time so they would give me the cheapest price.due in part to the quality of their parts and my knowledge about automobiles,i only go there to get filters now. for the most part they will credit me the core charge so i don't have to pay more when i purchase the item and trust me to return the core, which i always do.

the store is a locally owned former big A parts store thats had the same two guys working there for 20+ years.

I Went to my local Napa on Saturday planning to spend about $30. I asked the guy at the counter if they had any synthetic Dex III for my transfer case. First he had to look it up in the computer to make sure that is what I needed even though I assured him that was the case. Then he said they don't have a syn DexIII compatible fluid. Strike one. Then I asked about the $1.99 wipers because I needed a small 14" for the rear of my Mazda. He said "I don't stock many of those" and then pulled out a $13 Exact fit. Strike 2. I then asked for some replacement tail light bulbs for my Yukon and he was able to provide those for $4. So I spent about $4 instead of $30.

This isn't much different than the experiences I've had at Advance Auto which even though they stock more OTC items, they're often out of stock. Same with Walmart, it seems that whatever fluid I need there is also out of stock. I can't find a reliable auto parts store.

Do they exist?

I've never looked forwards to going to a NAPA. The local NAPA guys are really unmotivated to do anything, and I can almost sense the agony on both myself and the parts person when I begin to describe what I need... We all know what NAPA stands for, right? Need A Part A-hole?!
