I'm not the only one. Just a couple fast to find threads.

I guess more people like colors that pop so that's why apple changed their software but i personally like an accurate true to life photo. But that's what i liked about the iphone 5c I had. Colors were spot on compared to the s3 I had.
Yeah, first let me say, don't think for a second that I dont agree with you. I am surprised to hear it about the iPhone pro.
I like the photos from the iPhone 13 maybe because I am comparing them with my wife who used the Vivid settings *LOL*
I DO HATE the fact that I am forced to use certain enhancing features that I have ZERO interest in. like "Burst" mode.
I briefly skimmed over your link and I am surprised in a high end device labeled "Pro" you cant not turn off what Apple thinks you should have. I say in a high end device because I already know Apple limits what you can turn off on the 13 and other phones, it drives me NUTS that I take one photo but that camera takes 10 shots in succession. The only way to shut that off is force flash or something like that.
I dont want to discount the Apple cameras though, Im sort of new to Apple, I switched to Apple around 3+ years ago and I am very happy with the photos compared to the other phones I had, since that first XR I now have a 13, in addition a MacBook Air and Mac mini. Just bought my wife a Mac mini 6 months ago as well and a new 13.
I guess the bottom line is even with the word "pro" these are Sue and Joe consumer devices preset after relentless market testing to what the public likes best and Apple, as well as the others dont want them to mess up settings and then not enjoy their photos.
Like anything now, people want fantasy, enhancement over reality. I guess the only way one is going to get that is a larger format camera without the phone. Because after quickly looking at your link it seems like you can find a complaint from people about the cameras in phones no matter what brand, just like the OP. Granted though Apple uses the word Pro. They do actually use the Apple Pros for shooting segments of movie scenes at times in Hollywood where standard cameras wont work to get the effects they need because of size. I forgot what well known film it was but sure there are more.
To me, even though I use it far, far less, I use my Nikon D3300 DSLR camera for "true" photos. I will admit you get spoiled being able to use a phone to take photos that most times will simply be sent to family and friends in a text or email, sometimes though more rarely a link to a site like Shutterfly.
Same goes for TV sets, first thing I do is dial down some settings to more realistic look but still a little enhanced for the wife.
