in the fill hole? I usually notice "bubbles" "inside" of the volume of Oil, in the fill hole. And this is irregardless if i have the funnel on some kind of drain portion i can see inside the crankshaft or not.. the oil in the funnel seems to "bubble up" in its amber color (and i can see it in the funnel but i usually CANT on the dipstick. MANY times ive changed oil, refilled proper amount, then had a HARD time seeing it on the dipstick.. had to use the hole.s. and even then! it was as if "wait, did i put oil back in?" (virgin oil.) i used to add stuff just so i can see the oil. Always worked well.

Now, why do i see "bubbles" when it pours and collects in funnel?

.. are you trying to tell me that NOBODY has changed oil and seen what look like "bubbles" when the oil pools up in the funnel before it gets into the crankcase?

Impatient much? following up your post after 90min is just padding your post count. have some patience for a reply its Christmas Eve not like everyone will be sitting here reading this all day.

Some of us actually take time to form a realistic answer for something that did you not know. This takes time instead of just making up an answer.

Their are way too many variables to answer your question with an exact answer.

Just like water gets bubble from a faucet, the pouring of oil creates agitation and aeration of engine oil that may result in formation of air bubbles or foaming in the oil.

Possible reasons and answer.
Holding oil bottle too far away from funnel. Hold close to funnel.
Using funnel with opening too small. Use larger funnel.
Pouring from wrong side of bottle. Should hold bottle with opening towards you.
Using oil that has low anti-foaming agents. Use different oil.

Ok that makes sense. Almost forgot it was Christmas Eve.

I feel better knowing that others see "bubbles" trapped in the oil as it goes down. I always did use a low funnel, and lately ive been using 20 and 30-weight oils though i doubt that matters much (heavier oil goes down quicker, less air?)

Merry Christmas, everyone! Any other oil bubblers/factors?

heavier oil isnt actually heavier.. its more vicious.
so if anything it would hold air longer.

I see the same thing regularly, and have for many years. I don't worry about it. Sometimes I've shaken the bottle. Other times I've jostled it or dropped it. Other times, it's probably the "bloop-bloop" factor while pouring.

Check the same oil on the dipstick after the car's been sitting for the night. I bet you won't see any bubbles on the dipstick. Heck, I don't see any fifteen minutes after it's been running.
