Who will replace Fram filters at Walmart?

Yeah, you're probably right. Unfortunately, Purolator most likely will replace Fram at Walmart :(

In some areas, the Fram Endurance was already replaced by a Purolator line.
I’m seeing more of the 20K mile cheezy gold colored Purolator oil filters getting more shelf space at Walmart . Not sure if all the reasons why but most people here do not think too highly of this oil Purolator oil filter .

I'd wager they'll stick to the existing suppliers currently available that seem reliable (no Bankruptcy) (Mobil 1 & Purolator). Think about all the labels 1st brands provided, who else is left? Not many. They'll need to turn to Vietnam, China, or M+H.

Most likely Walmart will outsource Supertech to VAFI/CAFI and replace Fram with Purolator.
Eventually, someone is going to purchase the rights to the Fram name...
If Walmart brings in Purolator to replace FRAM, I can see a side deal by Mann+Hummel replacing SuperTech with the same filters that currently supply the Purolator Tech/WIX Pro-Tec jobber line filling the spot.

As much as Walmart is filled with Chinese product everywhere else, I still see them being resistive of bringing in a primarily foreign made line of oil filters and that is mainly due to them rotating stock more than most other retailers and a USA based oil filter manufacturer is more quick to ramp up, flex and deliver product quicker that wait on a Seavan container from China to show up.

Mobil 1 are made by Highline Warren, not Mobil.

Mobil has never made their own oil filters that I can recall, they always outsource them from some main stream manufacturer.

isnt the new gold filter suppose to be a walmart exclusive?

Actually, they're made in Asia by other foreign manufacturers but they are taking the sourcing, distribution, warranty etc for the Mobil brand. Walmart is currently using Mobil 1 for Walmart store stock. They may ask them to supply more to fill the shelf space. That's what I was trying to convey when mentioning Mobil 1. I doubt Walmart would be getting any HW branded filters outside of Mobil 1 branding but you never know.

I think it will go to Purolator soon. I remember when Walmarr stocked Purolator for a short period and switched back to Fram. At our local two stores they've never stocked the new Purolator gold filters.

I've not seen that either. We see that Mobil 1's are being stocked as they've been for a while. My comment is in regards to what will happen after Fram stock is depleted. Mobil 1's may get even more shelf space. That's what I was trying to convey of who WM would rely on to fill the space.

I completely forgot about the impact Fram will have on Wal Mart filter stock. With Champ Labs a part of the First Brands fiasco they can't increase their Supertech line of filters so they dissapear as well so I guess Purolater is the best guess!
Champion Labs is closed so that avenue is closed for the foreseeable future.
