who makes toyota oem rotors?

Was it assembled in Japan or here in the states? Probably makes a huge difference.

There is probably more than one company that makes OEM Toyota rotors, because there isn't just one company that makes their brake pads.

Sumitomo and Advics are 2 other companies I can think of that made OEM Toyota brake parts.

Also, for all I know, the part you could buy at the dealer isn't always the same, either.

You are correct - there are several venders for Toyota's OEM stuff.

I can say with a reasonable authority that Mountain makes at least some of Toyota's rotors. If the o/p is looking to buy some, then an alternative would be to go to NAPA and have them look in their Altrom line which sources parts from the OE supplier. I've seen it first hand and believe it.

I think it depends on the dealer. I've seen lots of parts store brand rotors being installed before. If you are wanting an OE part to be installed, I think you'd better specifically ask for it or do it yourself.

China, what? Are you saying that Toyota rotors are made in China? I can say that I've personally seen the box from an OE supplier before and it said "Made in Japan".
