who makes quakerstate filter?

I use these filters regurally on my small engines and boat, never an issue but im curious as to whom makes it and opinions?

The automotive filters are made by Purolator. They are most likely a Classic clone. So a great filter for the money.

Yeah, i pick these up at Menards, less than $3, i figure since i dont put many hrs on these things between changes, im ok. but seems as the metal "can" is tougher than purealtors?

Yes the latest generation of Pennzoil filters are made by Purolator. Previously, they were made by Honeywell/Fram, there may be some left out there. Difference between the two easily identified by the base.

and while im at it.....who makes ACE filters? i have a few for my mowers picked up for like $2 at a farm store, looks well made to the naked eye

daman, i wish i could, idk how......but it has 8 holes as does the qs, but the holes on the ace are 2x the size of the qs, a fram has 10 slotted holes, again the ace holes are much larger, i hope this helps? the app is for a kawasaki lawnmower type engine, kaw # 49065-2078, or jd # am107423
