After all the reading I have done on here, I started using the Fram ultra - no more ‘oem' filters for me.
The GM 3.6 uses a cartridge filter - I prefer that as I can see what im getting.

I have always been 1st and last owner of my vehicles. So that's the only hangup I currently have. The 04' runs like new and still no rust. Has 126K on the odometer. So I'm iffy on getting rid of it. Probably spent one-third of it's life with AC Delco oil filters. Around 09' is when GM made changes with so many suppliers and the current PF61s are not built as good as prior ones from 2004-08.
Mind you, this is a filter without an ADBV. Yet the PF61s these days rattle on cold startup. Go figure!
No guys! It's not another faulty part creating the rattle. Every other filter I tried (outside of Ultras), doesn't rattle on cold startup.
Someone at the parts counter told me to try PF61E, that those offer better flow. But I'm hesitant to give AC Delco another dime of my money.
