I don't like traffic circles either. Back when I was learning how to drive, I know of one for the longest time up until like 5 years ago. Now they are everywhere.

They've added some on a road that runs perpendicular with the interstate. I get that they are supposed to help with traffic flow, but these are only 2 lane and very busy.. much like an intersection in India.

Its very hard to get into the inner lane if you want to go 270 degrees around the circle and if you do make it to the inside good luck getting back out.

Spending my formative years in Canberra, the world capital of roundabouts....I have a love hate relationship.

They WERE a good idea, until they started installing tiny ones (that busses have to drive straight over) to give preferential flow to certain, more affluaent and vocal suburbs...then they became a menace.

Bathurst is using them as traffic calming devices...and the worst sort, making them off camber for drainage, rather than sloping to the centre which is difficult.

I found the 4 way stops in Lincoln, when I visited XS650, very civilised...if people behave civilised.

Must be a Toyota truck thing of that era; my Taco will freeze you out on low as you say. Best AC in a vehicle I've owned yet!

Although it is great when they are this cold from the factory, in general, if an older car where the AC does not get all that cold, which happens.. It's not guaranteed, sure, but The key is a nice, full charge that has had time to really let everything get circulated, while that may sound funny, you let it take its good time to really get that extra little bit of refrigerant in there for the maximum correct charge with as little possible air ? and it will get very, very cold, assuming no malfunctions or bad component. The FJ probably uses R134a (R134, myself and I believe most include the A at the end as it is) so it must be spectacularly efficient, one of those that proves an R134A can be every bit as cold as an R12 if done right.

I've had vehicles where once that AC really gets going, has been on for a half hour or so and you are cruising on a highway.. The fan on two, or sometimes even one, will be freezing you out on a hot day. Yes, 100 plus degrees. Always on Recirculate. Air conditioning in all its glory. Vent temp thermometers probably reading 39-41 degrees F

Traffic Circles are called Roundabouts here in Michigan. The only concerns with them - is when a newcomer has to negotiate them. Especially Old Lady Negotiators.

My home brew HC refrigerants make it literally snow in old landrovers...

Not sure I've seen these slow roads. All of our main city streets across all of Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, Scottsdale, etc. are 40 or 45 mph. Occasionally 35 in the older parts of town where the streets aren't as wide. Neighborhoods are 25 mph. I actually live in Mesa.

And traffic circles, you mean round-abouts? Only a couple here in the valley, only ones I've ever seen are in small towns.

Slow traffic stays right pretty good. I go 75 in the left lanes.

Probably here:

Likely very correct.

Even though no rules have been broken..

I don't mind traffic circles, although they have to be done right. There was on in Brattleboro that they made two lanes wide but in what used to be a 4 way. Two lanes running to the circle in all directions, but the right lane was for immediate exit. Well... no one could handle that. And you really couldn't move out of the center circle fast/easy enough as the radius of this circle was like 50 feet.

They put one in New London not that long ago, but I don't drive that often up there. Nearly drove through it in the dark after it was done out of habit (I had missed the construction phase). Learned real quick about its existence!
